Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer, with 5 years of experience, to join our Water Division as part of our construction management team on a NYCDEP construction project in Brooklyn, NY.
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will utilize your experience and technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure, water and wastewater facilities, and general building projects to successfully execute and manage construction under the supervision of the Resident Engineer.
Role accountabilities:
As an Assistant Resident Engineer (RE), you will oversee the firm's daily construction oversight and assist in managing multiple job order construction projects at one of DEP's South region wastewater plants.
Assist RE in managing inspection staff, reviewing daily inspector reports, and acting as liaison to design staff for RFI responses and shop drawing reviews.
Assist RE in managing office staff responsible for record keeping, correspondence, and drafting reports and deliverables.
Provide technical review of construction plans, specifications, and project changes for constructability and practicality.
Assist RE and EH&S inspectors in managing site safety and permit compliance.
Monitor contractor performance, schedule adherence, and responsiveness.
Influence contractors to meet project goals regarding cost, schedule, and quality.
Support contractor payment processes.
Lead contractor meetings, prepare agendas and minutes.
Communicate effectively in meetings with clients, agencies, and community stakeholders.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Benefits include nine paid holidays and 15 days of PTO annually. The salary range is $100,000 - $165,000, based on experience, education, and other factors.
