Responsibilities

In a dynamic environment like ours, priorities can change quickly. This role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  1. Oversee project scope, scheduling, contractor procedures, and resolve construction issues to ensure successful project delivery within budget and timeline constraints.
  2. Ensure all project submittals, schedules, insurance documents, and other contract requirements are submitted accurately and on time for approval.
  3. Conduct regular meetings with contractors, facility personnel, design consultants, and other stakeholders to discuss progress, address concerns, and make decisions to keep the project on track.
  4. Record and distribute detailed meeting minutes to all relevant parties to document discussions, decisions, and action items.
  5. Verify that all required material inspections and tests are conducted according to specifications and properly documented.
  6. Maintain thorough records of inspections, photos, shop drawings, and other relevant documentation to ensure compliance and facilitate project close-out.
  7. Generate and manage correspondence between the owner and the General Contractor regarding project progress, issues, and resolutions.
  8. Assist with the final project close-out, including gathering documentation, conducting inspections, and addressing outstanding issues.
  9. Perform the role of RE/Office Engineer in their absence.
Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
  • P.E. License and/or R.A. preferred but not required.
  • Minimum experience of three (3) years as Assistant Resident Engineer, four (4) years as Office Engineer, or five (5) years as Inspector in the Water Supply or Wastewater Sector.
  • Familiarity with NYCDEP Standards and Requirements.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • OSHA 30-hour construction safety, fall protection, confined space, and permit-required confined space entry and certification in work zone safety.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Expedition, OneDrive, SharePoint, eBuilder, and MS Teams.
  • Willingness and ability to work night and weekend shifts, and accommodate late or early hours as necessary.
