Job summary

Birch Family Services is seeking an Assistant Residence Manager to enhance the quality of services for individuals with mental and physical challenges. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in OPWDD-related field, with 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Provide staff supervision in absence of the Residence Manager.

Job description

Essential Functions:

  • Assisting in maximizing the functioning of mentally/physically handicapped adults.
  • Ensuring quality services to all residents.
  • Assigning work to DSP and overseeing Shift Supervisors.
  • Providing staff supervision and oversight in the absence of the Residence Manager.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on treatment/behavioral plans.
  • Monitoring staff to ensure goals and behavioral support plans are implemented correctly.
  • Attending meetings at schools and/or day treatment programs and communicating professionally with these entities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in OPWDD-related field, with 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong written, verbal, and computational skills.
  • Flexible schedule availability for meetings and work hours.

  • Excellent communication skills to articulate the company’s mission.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Problem-solving and logical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently within guidelines.
  • Confidentiality awareness.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Ability to operate office equipment and travel as needed.
  • Long and irregular hours, including weekends and second shifts.
  • Physical care for clients may be required, including restraint if necessary.
