Under general supervision, the Assistant Registrar assists the Registrar with the day-to-day management of the Registrar’s Office activities on the Dublin Campus of Oconee Fall Line Technical College. Maintains the accuracy and security of all student academic records; evaluates transfer credit and verifies withdrawals weekly; communicates with students approaching graduation; schedules classes for new and transfer students; serves on committees as appointed and attends conferences related to the profession; collects class grades from instructional staff and issues student grade reports; works closely with others to solve problems or answer questions about the student information system and student records; creates and maintains degree audits by working with department chairs and individual faculty to determine degree requirements; prepares statistics related to degrees awarded; creates concise, clear reports related to student issues; creates and modifies administrative and staff student information accounts.
School Certifying Official evaluates and processes Dep of Defense (DOD) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits, verifies student benefit eligibility, helps students through the benefit application process, updates benefit information on a continuous basis in DOD/VA, monitors student’ academic progress noting any concerns, ensures the school maintains compliance with all VA/DOD and state policies as they relate to military educational benefits, keeps supervisor and staff informed of any pertinent changes to related military education policies, and coordinates with the school business office regarding payment information as it relates to military educational programs. The Assistant Registrar reports directly to the Registrar.
