Job summary

Chapel Hill Parks & Recreation seeks an Assistant Recreation Supervisor for Hargraves Community Center. You will assist with daily programs, manage youth/teen activities, afterschool, and community events, while handling contracts, budgets, and staff supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 2+ years in parks and recreation, with 1 year in lead capacity preferred. Strong budgeting, customer service, and safety knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of parks and recreation experience in community centers and youth programs.
• Minimum one year in lead or senior capacity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily programming and management of Hargraves Community Center and Nate Davis Senior Gymnasium.
• Plan and evaluate youth/teen programs, afterschool, and community events.
• Coordinate marketing, reports, contracts, and purchasing orders.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
• Develop and monitor program budgets and revenue/expense reports.
• Ensure safety compliance and complete weekly/monthly safety and program reports.
