Shelter Corporation is seeking an Assistant Real Estate Manager for Madison Highlands I and II in Tampa, FL. This full-time role supports leasing, resident relations, and LIHTC compliance across 55+ communities.

The position collaborates with the Real Estate Manager and property teams to ensure smooth operations and compliant processes. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in affordable housing or LIHTC, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with property management

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail in compliance documentation and resident files.
• Customer service, interpersonal, and professional communication skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with residents, applicants, team members, vendors, and partners.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and to learn property management systems.

Responsibilities

• Support Real Estate Manager with daily community operations and coverage as needed.
• Assist with leasing, applications, lease preparation, move-ins, and move-outs.
• Provide professional service to prospective residents to support occupancy goals.
• Process rent payments, maintain resident ledgers, and assist with delinquency management.
• Support LIHTC compliance and age-restricted housing requirements.
• Coordinate with maintenance for work orders, unit turns, and move-in readiness.
• Prepare and deliver resident notices and communications.
• Assist with reporting occupancy, leasing activity, and compliance metrics.
• Support special projects and continuity of operations.
