Job description

Our client is seeking an Assistant Quality Control Lab Manager to support the daily operations of a fast-paced laboratory environment. This role will assist in overseeing laboratory activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and providing leadership to lab staff. Responsibilities

1. Support the Quality Control Lab Manager in supervising day-to-day laboratory activities to ensure efficient and compliant operations.
2. Assist in communicating priorities and objectives clearly to the laboratory team.
3. Help monitor project timelines and ensure adherence to established protocols.
4. Assist in overseeing the receipt, testing, and documentation of samples.
5. Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated, and functioning properly.
6. Help maintain accurate and compliant documentation for equipment and laboratory procedures.
7. Assist with the development, review, and execution of laboratory policies and procedures.
8. Support compliance with cGMPs, GLPs, and internal GOPs.
9. Participate in internal and external audits (e.g., FDA, EU, customer audits), and help implement corrective actions.
10. Promote a culture of safety among laboratory personnel and visitors.
11. Support laboratory housekeeping and the upkeep of non-calibrated equipment.
12. Contribute to the supervision and development of laboratory staff, including training and performance feedback.
13. Help manage task assignments, work schedules, and adherence to company policies.
14. Assist in fostering positive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
15. Provide timely and accurate updates on lab activities and test results.
16. Contribute to laboratory budget planning and recommend process improvements or policy updates as needed.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment within the pharmaceutical, medical device, or cosmetic industries.
3. Strong understanding of laboratory operations and quality compliance requirements.
4. Familiarity with ISO 17025, CFR requirements, and USP/ASTM/ISO/AAMI test methods.
5. Proven experience with project coordination or team leadership is preferred.
6. Proficient in technical writing and documentation.
7. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
8. Effective communication skills across various levels of the organization.
9. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
10. Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
