This position will oversee daily operations at the MA Biocampus Quality Control Microbiology lab. This includes daily and stability testing of commercial product and EMCU testing at the Framingham campus.

Main Responsibilities
  • Overseeing daily operations of the quality control laboratory to ensure adherence to the scheduled plans.
  • Establishing and prioritizing lab quality control objectives.
  • Maintaining the laboratory in compliance with GMPs and quality control processes defined according to internal and external quality requirements and regulations.
  • Ensuring the usage of validated methods and executing validation/transfer protocols as receiving unit.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of protocols (e.g., validation, transfer, investigation).
  • Managing and training laboratory staff, ensuring they follow best practices and safety guidelines.
  • Developing and conducting training programs.
  • Ensuring staff qualification through maintenance of the lab qualification matrix.
  • Conducting routine inspections of the laboratory to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely testing of samples according to protocols.
  • Advising on testing schedules and priorities.
  • Reviewing and approving laboratory test results and reports.
  • Deciding on the approval of test results.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment through scheduled maintenance, qualification, and calibration.
  • Investigating and resolving quality control issues or discrepancies.
  • Implementing remediation actions from findings and CAPAs.
  • Supporting regulatory inspections and audits by providing necessary information.
  • Building remediation plans related to inspection gaps, findings, deviations.
  • Ensuring laboratory facilities and instruments are maintained in a quality and safety-compliant state.
About You
Skills and Experience
Experience

Minimum of 5 years in quality control within the pharmaceutical industry, with knowledge of GMP and regulatory standards.

  • Ability to analyze complex data and laboratory results for decision-making and improvements.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a team.
  • Attention to detail for accuracy in testing and reporting.
  • Proficiency in resolving quality issues and implementing solutions.
