Quartzy is seeking a Laboratory Manager for its BioPass Team.

Now, we’re launching an exciting new service: BioPASS. Our Quartzy Lab Managers will act as the behind-the-scenes operational powerhouse for research labs, ensuring scientists can focus on science while we handle everything else.
Quartzy is a 100% distributed team so this role can be done anywhere in the US.
About You
You're a science-minded problem solver who loves making researchers’ lives easier. Whether you hold a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD, you’re eager to stay close to science in a role that blends your technical knowledge with strong operational or commercial instincts. Maybe you’ve worked in lab operations, or sales—so you know firsthand how critical lab logistics and relationships are. Either way, you're detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and thrive behind the scenes helping things run smoothly.
What You'll Do- Be the lab’s right hand. Manage purchasing, vendor relationships, and order tracking for multiple labs.
- Solve problems before they happen. Proactively identify supply chain issues, troubleshoot delays, and streamline processes.
- Communicate like a pro. Liaise with scientists to understand their needs and with suppliers to get the best pricing, availability, and service.
- Optimize operations. Use Quartzy’s software to manage inventory, orders, and financial data efficiently.
- Be a strategic partner. Help labs improve procurement processes, reduce waste, and stay within budget.
What We're Looking For:- 2+ years of Lab Management experience
- Experience in a lab management, purchasing, operations, or life sciences customer service role
- Strong understanding of scientific research workflows, reagents, and lab supplies
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and labs while maintaining extreme attention to detail
- Tech-savviness—comfortable navigating lab management software and spreadsheets
- Excellent communication skills (both with researchers and vendors)
- Previous account management/sales experience preferred
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset

$70,000 - $100,000 a year
Salary range: USD $70K - $100K
Quartzy takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Salary is just one component of our total rewards package. The pay scale ranges may be modified in the future.
All regular full-time employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program, excluding sales who are eligible for performance based variable sales incentives.
