Job description

Assistant Property Manager / Leasing Agent

Canvas Property Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager with Leasing Agent background, with 3+ years of NYC Multifamily experience. The role involves supporting all aspects of property operations and leasing within a portfolio. The Assistant Property Manager reports directly to the Senior Property Manager and Director of Revenue & Leasing, maintaining communication with Ownership and Partners.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Support or manage daily property operations, including tenant relations.
  • Supervise leasing, maintenance, and administrative staff.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance, capital projects, and vendor contracts.
  • Track violations, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with city laws and codes.
  • Conduct tenant move-in/move-out inspections and routine building inspections.
  • Manage work orders, coordinate access, and oversee vendor relationships.
  • Communicate with tenants and mediate discussions.

Leasing Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the leasing team on upcoming vacancies.
  • Develop pricing strategies based on market comparables.
  • Manage media and online listings for vacancies.
  • Schedule and conduct appointments and open houses via CRM.
  • Guide prospects through application processes and close leases.
  • Participate in community events and initiatives to enhance resident engagement.

Key Attributes and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of NYC multifamily property management experience.
  • Familiarity with NYC real estate laws and compliance.
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Passionate about growth and excellence in property management.

Compensation:

W-2 employment with a salary range of $65,000 to $100,000 plus commissions and bonuses, depending on experience.
