Job Summary
Join our dynamic property management team as an Assistant Property Manager, where your energy and organizational skills will drive exceptional tenant experiences and streamline property operations. In this vital role, you will support the management of residential and commercial properties of our rental portfolio, ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining high customer service standards, and assisting with day-to-day administrative tasks. Your proactive approach will help foster positive relationships with tenants, vendors, and team members while contributing to the overall success of our property portfolio.
Duties
- Assist in managing lease or rental agreements, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date using property management tools such as Buildium Software.
- Support property maintenance coordination by liaising with vendors, tracking work orders, and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Handle client communication via phone and email, providing excellent customer service and resolving tenant inquiries promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of leasing activities, rent payments, legal documents, and compliance files in accordance with Fair Housing regulations and legal administrative standards.
- Assist in budgeting processes by tracking expenses, preparing reports, and supporting financial reconciliation efforts.
- Support conflict management efforts by mediating tenant disputes professionally and escalating issues when necessary.
- Contribute to marketing efforts through upselling rental units or additional services to prospective tenants during leasing interactions.
- Utilize property management software such as Buildium Software to facilitate data entry, filing, and reporting tasks efficiently.
- Showing vacant units to applicants, follow up on applications and gather required docs, present to the property manager to elect the prospective tenant(s).
- Deliver the keys to the new tenants, send them the welcome package, help with transition of utility accounts.
Experience
- Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles with a strong understanding of landlord-tenant law and Section 8 housing programs.
- Demonstrated proficiency with property management tools including Buildium, Apfolio, Yardi, OneSite, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), or similar platforms.
- Prior experience handling lease agreements, contracts, and rental negotiations within a property management company setting.
- Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations, LIHTC compliance standards, and facilities management best practices.
- Strong customer service background with excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and client relationship management.
- Experience managing conflict resolution scenarios effectively while maintaining professionalism.
- Office experience involving data entry, filing systems, budgeting support, and general administrative duties aligned with real estate operations.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
