Assistant Property Manager

The Assistant Property Manager supports the property manager in overseeing the daily operations and management of a multi-family property. Responsibilities include tenant relations, leasing activities, maintenance coordination, and daily administrative tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the property manager in overseeing day‑to‑day operations, including tenant relations, leasing, maintenance, and administrative tasks.
  • Respond promptly to tenant inquiries, concerns, and requests, delivering excellent customer service and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with the leasing process: showcase available units, conduct screenings, and prepare lease agreements in line with company policies and regulations.
  • Coordinate move‑in and move‑out processes, conduct property inspections, document conditions, and ensure smooth transitions for tenants.
  • Assist with rent collection and delinquency management, following up on overdue payments and implementing appropriate procedures.
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff and contractors to schedule and oversee repairs, preventive maintenance, and renovations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of property expenses, income, leasing activity, and maintenance work orders.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance issues, safety hazards, and improvement opportunities.
  • Implement and enforce property policies, rules, and regulations, ensuring compliance with lease agreements and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to obtain competitive bids and ensure quality services.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and legal requirements related to property management.
Qualifications
  • LIHTC experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in property management, leasing, or real estate administration.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software.
  • Knowledge of landlord‑tenant laws, Fair Housing regulations, and property management best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Real estate license or certification (preferred but not required).
