About the Community

Our luxury, affordable community has 240 units located in Austin, TX 78723.

Summary and Responsibilities

The Assistant Property Manager reports directly to the Property Manager and supports daily operations to ensure the community functions smoothly administratively, financially, and socially. The role involves representing DMA with quality standards and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide excellent customer service to residents.
  2. Assist with resident renewals.
  3. Maintain records of vacant units.
  4. Resolve resident disputes with high customer service standards.
  5. Schedule unit make-readies for new residents.
  6. Advertise vacancies, obtain referrals, and show units.
  7. Contact delinquent residents, send notices, and support eviction procedures as needed.
  8. Record resident payments accurately and explain variances.
  9. Support leasing, retention, concessions, and customer service activities.
  10. Maintain resident files and provide leadership in the absence of the Property Manager.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. At least 2 years of experience in multifamily real estate.
  3. Understanding of fair housing laws and regulations.
  4. Experience with tax credit communities.
  5. Proven accounting and collections skills.
  6. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  7. Excellent problem-solving and prioritization skills.
  8. Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies.
  9. Customer service orientation and situational awareness.
  10. Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office, Paycor Recruiting, and AppFolio.
Working Environment and Physical Demands

This role involves sedentary work with mobility requirements such as standing, walking, climbing stairs, and inspecting properties. Occasional physical activities include pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs. Visual, hearing, and speech abilities are necessary for communication and paperwork. The environment includes both office and outdoor settings, with exposure to various weather conditions.
