Job summary

Keener Group is seeking an ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN in Jacksonville, FL. The role works with the Lead Maintenance Technician to keep apartment communities safe and well-maintained.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and minor repairs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry tasks. A focus on resident satisfaction and teamwork is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of property maintenance or equivalent field experience.
• Must attain a minimum of 70% on the Service Technician Qualification Test.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, appliances, plumbing, carpentry, plastering, pool systems, drywall repair, painting and HVAC.
• Ability to operate small hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to use voltmeters, am probes, hand saws, saber saws, drill motors, and pool-related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical integrity of the community and operating facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and process work orders.
• Inspect and maintain tools and storage areas for safety and cleanliness.
• Address resident requests and assist the Lead Maintenance Technician as needed.
• Diagnose and repair routine electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances and related systems.
