Job summary

Benchmark Utility Services is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support Project Managers in utility construction projects from planning through completion. You will assist with documentation, scheduling, cost control, and coordination with clients, subcontractors, and vendors in a fast-paced design-build environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in construction-related fields (or equivalent experience) and 2+ years of related coordination experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in construction coordination, project support, or assistant project management in utility, infrastructure, or heavy civil sectors.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Basic understanding of construction documents including plans, specs, RFIs, change orders, and submittals.

Responsibilities

• Promote site safety culture; enforce safety protocols and regulations.
• Assist with project tasks: billing, scheduling, coordinating miss-utility requests, safety plans, and meetings.
• Manage project documentation: RFIs, submittals, change logs, daily reports, meeting minutes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
