Job summary

Workshop GR in New York City seeks an Assistant Project Manager to join our growing design-build team. You will turn contracts and design intents into organized, shop-drawings-ready projects for pre-construction and seamless build.

You will coordinate between clients, general contractors, trade subcontractors, vendors, and international manufacturers, reporting to the project lead across multiple projects. Ideal for early-career professionals who are highly organized and proactive.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred in architecture, construction management, interior design, engineering, or related field.
2–5 years experience in project coordination or construction administration.
Strong written communication across clients, contractors, overseas manufacturers.
Exceptional attention to detail with high accuracy in drawings and orders.
Organized with excellent time-management and ability to manage multiple projects.
Willingness to travel up to 10% for site visits.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing wellness real estate project from pre-construction through project completion.
Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules, including Gantt charts.
Read contracts and design drawings closely to understand project scope, deliverables, and requirements.
Attend kickoff calls with clients and general contractors to coordinate timelines and project details.
Coordinate iterations of design drawings and shop drawings across all parties and shepherd them through to approval.
Conduct site visits to take measurements, document existing conditions, and coordinate with vendors, clients, other trades, and the GC.
Place equipment orders with vendors, track orders through international freight and customs, follow up consistently, and coordinate receiving of shipments on-site.
Support communication between clients, general contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal teams.
Maintain organized project documentation following company procedures and standards.
Support budgeting activities, proposal reviews, change order tracking, and invoice coordination.
Deliver a clean handoff: every necessary detail captured in approved shop drawings, all equipment ordered and tracked, and the project fully organized for pre-construction.
