Job summary

Hanover Iron Works, Inc. is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager to coordinate the fabrication and erection of structural steel and related metals.

The role involves reading specs and blueprints, creating schedules, and managing submittals and documents. You will collaborate with the Project Manager and other contractors to keep projects on schedule, resolve design conflicts, and ensure quality and safety standards are met throughout procurement, fabrication, shipping, and erection

Qualifications

• PM experience in steel fabrication/erection preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera) preferred.
• Valid US driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of Tekla and Trimble Connect is a plus.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in steel construction.
• Knowledge of safety, quality, and cost control standards.
• Ability to apply varying levels of mathematics relevant to the position.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Project Manager to oversee fabricating and erecting structural steel, miscellaneous metals, joists, and metal deck.
• Read specifications and blueprints to determine locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Create and establish schedules covering preconstruction planning, submittals, engineering, shop drawing, material procurement, fabrication, shipping, erection, and closeout.
• Prepare, coordinate, review, and execute submittals, contracts, blueprints/drawings, and other critical documents.
• Communicate and coordinate with other project contractors to maintain schedule, deliver materials, and mitigate design conflicts.
• Coordinate the steel package with other trades via BIM and perform clash detection.
• Organize and maintain important documents in hard copy and electronic formats.
