Contracting Specialists DC, LLC in Richmond, VA seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support day-to-day management of concrete and masonry restoration projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and field personnel to ensure work meets historical preservation standards and local building codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in construction, preferably in concrete restoration, historic masonry, or similar specialties.
• Familiarity with restoration techniques, materials, and historical preservation guidelines is preferred.
• Strong technical, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and historical documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in the day-to-day management of concrete and masonry restoration projects.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and other documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to gather technical data and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
• Track materials, equipment, and deliveries to maintain workflow.
• Assist in preparing estimates, takeoffs, and proposals during pre-construction.
• Document project updates, change orders, and issues that arise.
• Ensure compliance with historical preservation standards and local codes.
• Participate in project meetings and prepare minutes and actions.
• Collaborate with field personnel to resolve technical issues.
