Primoris Energy Services’ Mechanical contracting group seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support project coordination, technical support, and field exposure across Southeast U.S. roles.

Office-based with regular field interface and travel to project sites ensure successful delivery of complex mechanical and civil construction projects. The role involves coordinating procurement, submittals, RFIs, cost tracking, and collaboration with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to meet safety,

Qualifications

• 3–8 years in construction, engineering, or project management support.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes including mechanical systems and civil work.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Experience with submittals, RFIs, procurement, and change management.
• Understanding of cost control and project financials.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication with field, office, and client stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Develop and manage submittals per contract docs.
• Track RFIs and coordinate design clarifications with engineers and vendors.
• Interpret drawings to support field operations.
• Support budgets, schedules, forecasts, and progress reporting.
• Monitor project costs and assist variance analysis.
• Support change orders development and documentation.
• Maintain project documentation (RFIs, submittals, logs).
• Travel to project sites and attend meetings with clients and subcontractors.
