Job summary

Bohler's Ridgewood, NJ office is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (Land Development) to partner with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver thoughtful land development solutions for North Jersey communities.

You will grow as both an engineer and a leader, supporting project delivery, engaging with clients and municipalities, and mentoring junior staff while contributing to Bohler's reputation for technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of site design and jurisdictional permitting experience for residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and drainage software (StormCAD, Hydroflow, or HydroCAD); skilled in Excel, Word, Outlook, and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Support project management activities including scoping, proposals, schedules, and resource planning.
• Oversee preparation of site plan packages—grading, stormwater, utility design, and erosion control.
• Coordinate permitting and entitlement processes with clients, municipalities, and agencies.
• Prepare contracts, change orders, and client invoices while tracking financial performance.
• Collaborate with clients, attorneys, contractors, and subconsultants to ensure project success.
• Review concept drawings and cost estimates aligned with client objectives.
• Participate in public hearings, community meetings, and professional organizations.
• Mentor junior staff and share technical knowledge to promote team growth.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• 6+ years of experience in site design and jurisdictional permitting for residential, commercial, or industrial projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and drainage software such as StormCAD, Hydroflow, or HydroCAD; skilled in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
• Strong communication, organization, and project management skills
• Experience working directly with clients and project teams
• Professional Engineer (PE) license beneficial

Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience. The base pay range for this role is $105,000 - $125,000 per year.
