Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Willdan Lighting & Electric currently has an opening for an Assistant Project Manager II in our Maspeth, NY office. This role is integral to the management and success of our energy efficiency projects. We are looking for an outgoing individual that is comfortable working in a team environment and not afraid to be the face of Willdan to subcontractors and clients alike. Someone that has the ability to identify improper lighting surveys and installations and provides a solution to the client.

  • Coordination of subcontractors in multiple locations.
  • Resolve issues that may arise with clients, subcontractors, or consultants.
  • Oversite of quality control for all installations performed by field staff including building codes and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding lighting technologies and other Energy Efficiency measures.
  • Reconciling project equipment orders with warehouse management & other team members as needed.
  • Coordinating with program scheduler or scheduling field installs, performing pre, in-process, and post installation reviews for crew, ensuring work is performed safely and handling customer visits for complaint resolution.
  • Closing out projects with customers and collecting payment.
  • Managing and hiring a field team and conducting performance reviews.
  • Attending team meetings as needed and taking a lead role in resolving customer complaints.
  • Collaborating with field staff to share best practices and continually improve operations.
  • Preparing or supporting project reporting for Willdan Management.
  • Manage the client relationship.
  • Develop tools, processes and procedures to facilitate projects.
  • Track project progress in relation to budgets, targets and forecasts.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to the program’s strategies and business processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience working with Lighting upgrades.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and lighting construction technologies.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite in particular, Excel.
  • Familiarity with database systems.
