Job summary

Contracting Specialists DC, LLC in Richmond, VA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support day-to-day restoration projects in concrete and masonry. You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure work meets historical preservation standards and local codes.

The role requires a Civil/Construction degree and 3+ years of experience, with strong skills in scheduling, budgeting, and field coordination. On-site work and travel are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in construction, preferably restoration.
• Familiarity with restoration techniques and historical preservation guidelines.
• Strong technical, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and historical documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
• Ability to work on-site and travel to project locations.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in day-to-day management of restoration projects.
• Assist in preparing schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and safety compliance.
• Track materials, equipment, and deliveries for efficient workflow.
• Assist in estimating, take-offs, and proposals during pre-construction.
• Document updates, change orders, and issues arising on site.
• Ensure work meets preservation standards and local codes.
• Participate in meetings and prepare minutes and actions.
• Collaborate with field personnel to resolve issues and improve communication.
