Job summary

Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our Richmond-area heavy civil/highway construction client.

You’ll work alongside a Senior PM on active projects, taking real responsibility from day one, handling submittals, RFIs, procurement, and cost tracking. The role offers growth into owner/interface work, schedule updates, change management, and a path to running your own projects with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of heavy civil, highway, or utility project experience.
• Experience with construction scheduling and cost tracking is required.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent field experience.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record; local travel.
• In-state relocation to Richmond area is supported for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Manage submittals, RFIs, procurement and material tracking.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supplier purchase orders to protect schedule.
• Track quantities, production, and costs against budget and flag variances.
• Assist with monthly payment requisitions and cost projections.
• Attend weekly project team meetings reviewing schedule and cost.
• Support safety culture across the project.
