Job summary

Vaughn Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent in delivering academic, healthcare, and research facilities across Texas. The role involves administrative and technical direction to ensure project success.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Owners and Design teams, guiding project engineers, managing documentation, and contributing to cost control and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in construction, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3–4 years of experience in commercial construction.
• Experience with healthcare, higher education, and/or laboratory projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with Project Manager to ensure projects meet contract, design, budget, and schedule requirements.
• Communicates with Owner and Design team to solve problems and facilitate construction activities.
• Oversees project engineers, maintains logs, and manages RFI documentation.
• Leads project meetings and contributes to safety programs.
• Assists with pay applications, cost reporting, and budget development.
• Prepares Subcontracts and Purchase Orders.
