Job summary

Vaughn Construction seeks an experienced on-site Superintendent to lead field operations for major Texas-based projects. You will supervise crews, coordinate logistics, enforce safety, and work closely with PMs, clients and design teams to deliver high-quality facilities.

The role requires a decade of superintendent experience on large commercial builds, including healthcare or higher-education settings, with self-perform capability in key trades and a proven budget/schedule track record.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a project superintendent on large commercial projects.
• Experience with healthcare, higher education, and laboratory projects preferred.
• Self-performing work in excavation, concrete, and finish carpentry.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and schedules on multi-project deployments.

Responsibilities

• Develop a site logistics, lifting, hoisting, deliveries and access plan.
• Inspect activities for quality, plans, specs and shop drawings compliance.
• Enforce Vaughn’s safety program and OSHA rules.
• Provide technical assistance interpreting drawings and methods.
• Coordinate trade installations to mitigate sequencing and constructability issues.
• Review plans and shop drawings before performing duties.
• Promote clear communication among the team and with stakeholders.
• Assist in developing project procedures and standards.
• Help maintain a positive company image and client relations.
• Train assistants to follow policies and motivate teams by example.
• Develop professional relationships with client and design teams for project success.
• Ensure personnel compliance with project procedures.
• Maintain organization to meet project schedules and deliverables.
• Prepare time sheets, reports and labor projections on time.
• Ensure work follows company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with PM on status reports and resource planning.
• Maintain and adjust the project schedule as needed.
• Support the site communications plan and team updates.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality on site.
