Job summary

Vaughn Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager and Superintendent in the overall administrative and technical direction of its projects in Texas. The role focuses on coordinating schedules, budgets, and subcontractor activities for academic, healthcare, and research facilities.

The candidate will guide project engineers, participate in safety programs, and contribute to buyout and procurement while leveraging Primavera to maintain updated project

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in construction, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the commercial construction industry.
• Experience with healthcare, higher education, and/or laboratory projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with Project Manager to ensure projects follow contract, design, budget, and schedule requirements.
• Communicates with Owner and Design team to solve problems and facilitate construction activities.
• Direct oversight and training of project engineers to maintain project logs, documentation, and RFIs.
• Leads and represents Vaughn in project meetings.
• Contributes to cost-control and cost projection activities.
• Assists with financial aspects of the project including pay applications and cost reporting.
• Prepares subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Participates in safety programs.
• Proficient in Primavera scheduling software and provides schedule updates.
