Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred B.S. in Building Construction or Construction Management; five years supervisory experience can substitute for degree.
• Minimum of three years of commercial construction experience and knowledge of Florida Building Code and NFPA standards.
• Experience in healthcare construction preferred; knowledge of healthcare codes is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Construction on assigned projects and monitor costs.
• Review budgets, cost proposals, and change orders for accuracy and fairness.
• Evaluate bids to identify best value bidder.
• Coordinate training of owner staff on new systems and equipment.
• Ensure contractor/vendor compliance with contract terms.
• Collaborate with UF Health Manager of Quality and Preventive Maintenance on equipment and FF&E.
• Manage a moderate to heavy workload with good judgment and interpersonal skills.
