Job summary

LeoForce is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for electrical construction projects in Waterford, OH. The role supports project managers through all phases of commercial and industrial electrical work, coordinating with field leadership, vendors, and subcontractors while handling RFIs, submittals, and cost tracking.

The position targets candidates with 2–5 years of related experience and a path toward becoming a full Project Manager, offering opportunities to influence project profitability

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in electrical construction, project engineering, project coordination, or assistant project management.
  • Experience supporting commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects.
  • Understanding of electrical construction processes and project lifecycle.
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Exposure to project budgets, cost tracking, procurement, and scheduling.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and related project documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to travel regularly to active project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers throughout all phases of electrical construction projects
  • Coordinate activities between project management, field leadership, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders
  • Maintain project logs and proactively follow up on outstanding items
  • Assist with project budgets, job-cost tracking, forecasting, and cost projections
  • Support change-order pricing and coordination with estimating and field teams
  • Review vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy
  • Assist with purchase orders and procurement of electrical equipment and materials
  • Track material and equipment deliveries against project schedules
  • Assist with project schedules, lookaheads, and production tracking
  • Coordinate with Superintendents and Foremen regarding manpower and field progress
  • Identify potential schedule delays, scope conflicts, and field issues
  • Support QA/QC activities and compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes
  • Assist with inspections and testing coordination
  • Support project safety expectations alongside field leadership
  • Coordinate punch-list activities and final inspections
  • Assemble as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, and other closeout documentation

Job Details

The Assistant Project Manager will support the successful execution of commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, vendors, and subcontractors while taking ownership of RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, cost tracking, scheduling, and project documentation.

This position is designed for someone who already understands the fundamentals of construction project execution and is ready to develop the skills necessary to become a Project Manager.
