Job summary

The MBTA seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager and Resident Engineer in design and construction phases, coordinating with offices and external partners using MBTA PMIS systems. You will help develop scopes, budgets, and schedules, and prepare reports for leadership.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's in engineering or related field, 0–3 years of experience, and strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
• 0–3 years of engineering design, architecture design, and/or construction experience.
• Ability to communicate with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders.
• Proficiency with MS Office and project documentation tools.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing consultant and construction contracts to meet safety, cost, and schedule goals.
• Act on behalf of the project manager when needed and coordinate with project office staff.
• Assist in developing project scopes, budgets, and schedules under supervision.
• Coordinate with municipal officials, the public, and external parties for project delivery.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations for senior management and officials.
• Attend and organize project meetings, with agenda and minutes as required.
• Support review of monthly payment and schedule submissions from contractors.
