Job summary

Basnight & Sons, a Durham, NC building materials contractor with a long history, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support Division 8 and Division 10 projects from estimate through closeout.

You will assist with take-offs, estimates, bid reviews, and turnover activities, and help coordinate submittals, procurement, schedules, and closeout documentation while maintaining records and informing leadership of milestones and issues.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in the door and hardware, building materials, construction, specialty products, or a related industry.
• Knowledge of commercial doors, frames, hardware, specialties, or related project workflows is preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, customer service, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Experience with Comsense, Pro-Tech, or similar software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with Division 8 and Division 10 project execution.
• Assist with take-offs, estimates, quotations, bid reviews, and project turnover activities.
• Help coordinate submittals, procurement, material orders, deliveries, schedules, and closeout documentation.
• Maintain accurate project records, correspondence, RFIs, change requests, and status updates.
• Monitor milestones and communicate potential issues to project leadership.
• Provide responsive customer and administrative support while collaborating across departments.
