Job summary

Suffolk Construction in Austin, TX, seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager in running day-to-day project management operations on the jobsite. You will log contracts and POs, price and review change orders and RFIs, manage submittals, ensure insurance and permits, coordinate with subcontractors, and contribute to weekly meetings and progress reports.

The role requires 2+ years of related experience and a detail-oriented, adaptable mindset aligned with Suffolk's core

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience or completion of Suffolk’s Career Start Program as a Project Engineer or Project Engineer with another firm.
• Ability to manage and embrace change; adapt to new processes and problems.
• Computer literate with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Log contracts & purchase orders and track changes.
• Price, approve or reject Change Orders, Submittals, and respond to RFIs.
• Log and review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
• Request and review subcontractor insurance certificates for compliance.
• Create and update vendor and subcontractor contact logs.
• Price and create Proposed Change Orders.
• Submit and track RFIs and manage permit processes.
• Coordinate with attorneys on contracts and insurance discrepancies.
• Liaise with subcontractors to resolve issues and questions.
• Assist with project schedule narratives and weekly meeting minutes.
