Job summary

Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking an Assistant Project Manager, Construction Administration to support the Capital Planning Department. You will work with a Project Manager III to monitor scope, schedule and budget of public school projects from design through close-out.

You will participate in site visits, track progress, assist with change orders and submittals, and help prepare budget revisions and closeout documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in project management, construction, architecture or a related field.
• One to three years of experience in construction, project management, or design.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (SharePoint/Teams/Outlook).
• Ability to monitor schedules, budgets and scope and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Review and monitor project schedules, budgets and scope under guidance.
• Participate in on-site and remote project visits to track progress.
• Report project status at weekly meetings and document observations.
• Assist in reviewing change orders and submittals for funded capital projects.
• Support senior staff with reimbursement applications, budget revisions and closeout documents.
• Draft meeting minutes and action items for project teams.
• Contribute to best practices for cost-effective, durable school construction.
