Job summary

Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Construction Administration within Capital Planning. The role oversees funding across projects from design through close-out, ensuring policy compliance, budgeting, and timely reporting.

The Senior Project Manager leads teams, reviews design and construction documentation, and coordinates with MSBA and local districts to maintain alignment with funding agreements and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Ten (10) years of construction experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory project management capacity preferred.
• Experience managing employees.
• Proficiency with MS Office apps (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams); MS Project or similar scheduling software preferred.
• Strong ability to manage multiple complex projects and budgets.
• Knowledge of construction regulations, cost estimating, contract compliance, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction project administration, compliance monitoring, and claims processing.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets and scope; ensure compliance with MSBA guidelines and funding agreements.
• Coordinate activities with MSBA departments and Massachusetts school districts.
• Review budgets, schedules and change orders; provide status reports and variance analysis.
• Oversee site visits, cost estimates, and contractor performance; ensure contract compliance.
• Prepare reports for MSBA leadership and Board of Directors.
• Supervise Owner’s Project Managers and staff; recruit, train, and mentor team.
