General Summary

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager in managing project tasks, communicating with clients, and overseeing project execution from start to finish. The APM is involved in scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and coordination with various departments, ensuring project objectives are met efficiently.

Responsibilities

1. Review plans, specifications, and project scope.
2. Assist in managing project budgets and financials.
3. Handle project documentation such as permits, licenses, RFIs, change orders.
4. Coordinate procurement of materials, subcontractors, and equipment.
5. Work with project team to plan and organize construction activities.
6. Communicate with clients and act as a liaison.
7. Monitor project progress and address issues proactively.
8. Participate in project meetings and report progress.
9. Assist in cost coding and invoice approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in heavy civil construction.
• Knowledge of construction practices and business operations.
• Strong decision-making, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Physical Demands

Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, and operate a computer. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work around construction equipment. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
