Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting their assigned Project Manager in the planning, administrative management, project completion, client satisfaction, and financial outcomes of assigned projects. Acts as the Project Manager in their absence. Work is performed with independence under the supervision of the Project Manager, Chief Engineer, or other supervisors, and is reviewed regularly through observations, conferences, and results achieved.

Representative Duties
  1. Assist in developing project planning, proposals, cost estimates, budgets, timelines, and schedules.
  2. Conduct research, analysis, and administrative studies related to department and county-wide projects, including policy development and organizational improvement.
  3. Assist in developing training programs, conducting training and public education/outreach.
  4. Evaluate policy and management programs and report progress.
  5. Monitor project progress to ensure county objectives are met.
  6. Make field visits during construction, citizen issues, and other needs.
  7. Participate in meetings, deliver presentations, and track compliance progress.
  8. Maintain a customer service database and coordinate with other departments.
  9. Develop and review policies, procedures, and training materials.
  10. Represent the County at meetings and coordinate projects from design to delivery.
  11. Conduct quality control activities and research historical data for project planning.
  12. Coordinate personnel, communicate effectively, and develop project presentations.
  13. Interact with citizens and manage media relations if needed.
  14. Proficiently use GIS software to maintain layers, perform analysis, and develop GIS projects.
  15. Research data, produce maps, and provide GIS training.
  16. Report during Emergency Operations and perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, GIS, Geography, or related field, with three years of relevant experience and two years of project management, or equivalent education and experience.
