Job summary

DN is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to help plan, execute, and close out concrete construction projects. You will support the Project Manager, coordinate with superintendents, and manage subcontractors to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in heavy civil construction, a civil engineering or construction management background, and leadership abilities. The role offers growth opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction field engineer, project engineer, or assistant project manager experience in a heavy civil self-performing contractor.
• Background in sitework and utility work preferred.
• Leadership experience demonstrated through ability to guide, motivate and develop others.
• Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in the successful execution of projects through effective communication and coordination.
• Manage services projects representing the company in meetings and pre-job planning with superintendents.
• Oversee new construction projects as directed by the Vice President of Construction.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor pricing and maintain subcontractor relationships.
• Utilize AutoCAD for casting bed and crane layout and assist in pre-bid estimation.
• Coordinate material submittals and lead times to meet project timelines.
• Oversee end-to-end concrete design, quality control, and post-project analysis.
• Manage subcontractors to align performance with timelines and quality.
• Coordinate crane operations and scheduling with the superintendent.
• Travel to project sites for preconstruction meetings and safety inspections.
• Assist with budgeting, invoice evaluations, and monthly billings.
• Support closeout meetings and seamless handover to clients.
• Mentor co-ops/interns and ensure professional development.
