Job summary

MPI is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for Commercial Projects in Washington, DC. You will assist project managers with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation to keep jobs on track.

This role requires 3+ years in project management with a GC, a related bachelor's degree, and proficiency in Procore. You will coordinate subcontractors, review drawings, and support project closeout in a collaborative, growth‑oriented culture.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of project management experience with a general contractor.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and project management principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Procore or other project management softwares.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers with the planning and administration of construction projects.
  • Supporting project scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking activities.
  • Coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Reviewing contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Preparing and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project reports.
  • Monitoring project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Assisting with procurement and material tracking.
  • Participating in project meetings and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards, company policies, and project requirements.
  • Supporting closeout activities, including punch lists and final documentation.

Job Description
