Job summary

Imperium Construction Services is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to help deliver coordinated, high-quality commercial spaces across New York and neighboring states. You’ll work with project managers, the director of projects, and field teams from preconstruction through closeout.

You’ll manage submittals, logs, and project documents, coordinate with subs and suppliers, and support estimating, procurement, and budgeting. This role offers growth toward a Project Manager position.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of experience with a general contractor, preferably in commercial interiors.
• Ability to read construction drawings and understand trade scopes.
• Strong organization, clear communication, and consistent follow through.
• Ability to prioritize several deadlines and raise issues early.
• Experience with Procore and Excel.
• A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant field experience is also valued.

Responsibilities

• Manage submittals, RFIs, drawing updates, and project documentation in Procore.
• Develop and maintain submittal and procurement logs, identify long lead items, and track approval, ordering, and delivery dates to support the project schedule.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers on manpower, deliveries, and outstanding work.
• Support estimating, bid comparisons, purchasing, and subcontract preparation.
• Help track budgets, change orders, and project schedules.
• Prepare meeting minutes and follow up on action items.
• Visit jobsites, support field teams, and track punch list completion.
• Organize inspections, warranties, and closeout documents.
