Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting's client, an employee-owned commercial construction company, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Wood Dale, IL, with regular travel to Chicagoland job sites. You will support several Project Managers, manage submittals and RFIs, and help keep project schedules current.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of commercial construction experience, background from GC or subcontractor, and familiarity with public/institutional delivery.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of commercial construction experience.
• Background from a General Contractor or a subcontractor is welcome.
• Familiarity with public/institutional project delivery is common in this market.
• College degree preferred, not required; ERP experience (Sage) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support several Project Managers across multiple active projects.
• Manage submittals and RFIs.
• Assist with subcontracts and remittance.
• Maintain and update project schedules.
• Coordinate daily with superintendents and resolve field issues.
• Process and track change orders in Primavera P6.

Location: Wood Dale, IL (in-office) with regular travel to nearby active job sites in Chicagoland

Compensation: $90,000–$100,000/year + year-end bonus

Day-to-Day Duties

• Support several Project Managers across multiple active projects
• Manage submittals and RFIs
• Assist with subcontracts and remittance
• Maintain and update project schedules
• Coordinate daily with superintendents and help resolve field issues as they arise
• Process and track change orders in Primavera P6

Must-Haves

• 3–5 years of commercial construction experience
• Background from a General Contractor or a subcontractor is welcome
• Familiarity with public/institutional project delivery - many public projects here!
• College degree preferred- not required
• ERP experience, Sage products preferred!
