A leading company in construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to contribute to high-quality commercial projects. This full-time role involves managing project schedules, budgets, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure compliance and safety. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in commercial construction and possess strong communication, management, and customer service skills.
We are recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable and experienced commercial general contractor based in Waltham, MA. Our client specializes in delivering high-quality projects across the commercial and community building sectors including; academic, public safety, community, governmental and residential projects. They are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Project Manager (PM) to join their team and contribute to the growing success of their already extensive portfolio.
Job Description – Assistant Project Manager
Candidates should have the ability to operate efficiently and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment. The best candidates will have excellent communication, management and customer service skills with strong problem-solving and keen focus on safety. The Assistant Project Manager role requires thorough knowledge of specific construction divisions including budget and estimating, planning and scheduling and liaising with internal and external stakeholders from project inception to completion.
Commercial Assistant Project Manager Responsibilities:
· Prepare result-orientated work plans.
· Manage the cost of the planning, design and construction process to remain within the agreed budget.
· Ensure all company, client and project policies, procedures and standards are adhered to.
· Help manage all phases of the construction process and the project schedule throughout the project to ensure work is completed in compliance with the agreed contract terms.
· Ability to communicate effectively and work with the on-site staff, subcontractors, inspectors, architects and owners to ensure completion of tasks.
· Implement and monitor procedures to protect the health and safety of jobsite employees, visitors and the general public.
· Thorough knowledge of construction techniques and the ability to enforce the most efficient method of completing tasks.
· Implement the terms and conditions of the contract using established systems, policies and procedures.
· Develop and assemble closeout documents alongside preparing project for project hand over.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 3 years in commercial construction.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Certain duties of this job do require the physical ability to occasionally climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this hob include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job will require the use of hands to fingers with the ability to handle, or feel objects, sit, talk and hear clearly.
Successful Applicants will have:
· Minimum 3 years of commercial construction experience
· College degree preferred but not essential
· Experience in assisting project managers, scheduling, budgeting, negotiation and production of commercial projects.
