Job summary

Veolia North America LLC is seeking a Civil Engineer with capital project experience to lead project planning, field coordination, and cost control at multiple sites in the West region.

You will manage documentation, procurement, and scheduling while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with protocols. Travel to project sites is required.

Job Description

Promote company mission, values, and strategic goals while maintaining a safe work environment through proactive safety monitoring and compliance enforcement. Support planning, coordination, and supervision of company and contracted personnel. Manage project documentation using Procore and other systems. Prepare and process purchase requisitions, change requests, and contractor authorizations. Monitor budgets, schedules, and progress through regular team meetings. Serve as field liaison for clients, participate in meetings, and resolve project issues. Coordinate engineering deliverables and verify quality standards are met. Prepare status reports, change orders, and progress documentation. Support proposal preparation and cost estimates. Support capital programs and asset management strategies to improve facility viability and reduce long‑term costs. Conduct root cause analysis and provide engineering support for evaluations. Ensure compliance with safety programs, codes, company policies, and contractual requirements. Assist with contract management including subcontracting, progress monitoring, and payment authorizations. Coordinate with Operations & Maintenance departments to minimize disruptions. Conduct construction inspections and field oversight. Participate in budget development, cost monitoring, invoice processing, and fiscal planning. Understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Familiarity with submittal review processes and RFI management. Understand water/wastewater treatment processes and infrastructure. Construction document control and management. Schedule development and monitoring. Risk identification and tracking. Responsible for Quality assurance/quality control processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy. Problem‑solving and critical thinking. Team collaboration and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Time management and ability to meet deadlines.

Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background
  • Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Civil Engineering, or related engineering field, and 2 years experience in a related occupation.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • 2 years of experience managing capital projects with budgets ranging from $500,000 to $10 million plus.
  • 2 years experience in water/wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, pipeline infrastructure, or related utility systems.
  • 2 years of experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents (civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural).
  • 2 years of experience preparing or reviewing cost estimates, budget reports, and financial tracking documents.
  • 2 years of experience creating and maintaining project schedules with over 50 activities using Critical Path Method scheduling.
  • 2 years of experience administering contracts, processing change orders, and managing RFIs (Requests for Information).
  • 2 years of experience conducting site inspections and documenting construction progress, deficiencies, or safety observations.
  • 2 years experience in MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore, Autodesk Construction, to create schedules, update progress, and generate reports.
  • 2 years of experience in project management platforms such as Procore, e‑Builder, Projectmates, or similar (document control, submittals, RFIs).
  • 2 years of experience with construction methods and sequencing.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training
  • Valid Driver's License required.
Physical Requirements
  • Domestic travel required (20%) to various project sites including construction sites and operating facilities within the West Region.
  • 40 hrs/wk, 8:00am-5:00pm, M-F.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $92,160 to $138,240 Per Year.
