We're hiring an Assistant Project Manager to join an owner's representative team on high-profile interior fit-out projects. This is an owner-side role, not a GC seat. You'll be stationed on-site full-time, protecting the owner's interests by keeping a close eye on quality, schedule, budget, and contract compliance while serving as the daily point of coordination between the general contractor, the design team, consultants, and ownership.
What you'll be doing:
- Maintaining a daily on-site presence to observe and document progress, workmanship, and conformance to drawings, specs, and design intent
- Identifying deficiencies and non-conforming work, then escalating to the GC and senior team for resolution
- Tracking GC progress against baseline and look-ahead schedules, flagging delays, sequencing conflicts, and long-lead or FF&E items that affect the critical path
- Reviewing pay applications, change order requests, and backup documentation to verify accuracy and entitlement
- Supporting budget tracking, cost reports, and forecasts, and surfacing cost exposures early
- Managing RFI, submittal, and change logs to keep owner decisions timely
- Coordinating with architects, engineers, and consultants to resolve field issues and clarify design intent
- Attending and documenting OAC meetings, preparing minutes, and following up on open action items
- Producing daily reports, progress photos, and field observation logs, and keeping project records organized
- Driving punch list completion and supporting commissioning, inspections, permit close-out, and turnover of O&M manuals, warranties, and as-builts
- Monitoring that the GC maintains a safe, OSHA-compliant site (oversight role; enforcement stays with the GC)
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent field experience
- 5+ years of construction project experience; owner's rep, interiors, or commercial fit-out background preferred
- Working knowledge of construction means and methods, MEP systems, and interior finishes
- Comfort reading and interpreting drawings, specs, and contracts
- Proficiency with Procore (or similar), Bluebeam, MS Project or Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills
- OSHA 30 preferred
- Able to be on-site full-time and navigate active construction environments
