Job summary

Amicus Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager for a major ground-up data center project in Michigan City, Indiana. The role focuses on RFIs, submittals, documentation, and trade coordination to keep the project moving on schedule.

You'll collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams on site, ensuring accurate logs, timely responses, and clear communication across a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• Recent data center or mission critical construction experience is essential.
• General Contractor or Construction Manager experience strongly preferred.
• Experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer or similar construction role.
• Strong experience managing RFIs and submittals.
• Experience with project documentation and document control.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and trade partners.
• Familiarity with change orders, procurement and construction schedules.
• Experience on large-scale ground-up construction projects.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work full-time on site in Michigan City, Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Managing and tracking RFIs across the project.
• Managing submittals and maintaining accurate submittal logs.
• Coordinating drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Reviewing subcontractor submissions for completeness.
• Supporting document control and distribution across the project team.
• Coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, engineers and design teams.
• Tracking outstanding RFIs and submittals and driving timely responses.
• Supporting procurement and material tracking.
• Assisting with change orders and change management.
• Maintaining accurate project records and documentation.
• Supporting project schedules, reporting and progress tracking.
• Attending subcontractor and project coordination meetings.
• Supporting MEP, civil, structural and architectural coordination.
• Assisting with punch list, turnover and closeout documentation.
• Working closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to keep the project moving.

We are working with a General Contractor delivering a major ground-up data center project in Michigan City, Indiana and are looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join the project team.

This is a full-time, site-based position with an excellent per diem and travel package available for candidates travelling to the project.

Recent data center or mission critical construction experience is essential.

The Role

The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors and design teams, with a strong focus on RFIs, submittals, project documentation and trade coordination.

This is a key project support role for someone who is highly organised, comfortable managing technical documentation and able to keep information moving across a fast-paced construction project.
