Job summary

Zohorecruit is assisting a leading General Contractor delivering a major data center project in Mobile, Alabama. We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the project team on day-to-day delivery, with a strong focus on documentation, RFIs, submittals, and coordination with subcontractors.

Candidates should have recent data center or mission-critical construction experience and be able to work full-time on site in Mobile, Alabama.

Qualifications

We are working confidentially with a General Contractor delivering a major data center project in the Mobile, Alabama area and are looking to make multiple Assistant Project Manager hires to support the project team.

Recent data center construction experience is essential. Candidates without recent data center or mission critical project experience will not be considered.

The Role

The Assistant Project Managers will support the Project Managers, Superintendents and wider construction team across day-to-day project delivery, with a strong focus on project documentation, subcontractor coordination and technical administration.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing and tracking RFIs
• Managing submittals and submittal logs
• Coordinating project documents, drawings and specifications
• Supporting subcontractor coordination and communication
• Reviewing scopes of work and subcontractor documentation
• Assisting with change orders and change management
• Tracking procurement and material status
• Maintaining accurate project records and documentation
• Supporting project schedules, reporting and progress tracking
• Coordinating with Project Managers, Superintendents, engineers and trade partners

What We’re Looking For

• Recent data center or mission critical construction experience is essential
• Previous experience working for a General Contractor or Construction Manager
• Experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer or similar construction role
• Strong experience with RFIs, submittals and project documentation
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and trade partners
• Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications and scopes of work
• Experience with change orders, procurement and project controls
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience on large-scale ground-up data center projects preferred
• Ability to work full-time on site in the Mobile, Alabama area
• Multiple positions are available as the project team continues to grow.
