Job summary

Miles McClellan Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to help deliver commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will work with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and project partners to ensure safety, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.

The role involves coordinating with multiple stakeholders, reviewing drawings and specs, managing permits, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and documentation, and supporting field

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in CM/Engineering/Architecture or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent or similar role.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and PM practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and contracts.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and MS Office.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project coordination.

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
  • Help track schedules, deliveries, material procurement, and milestones.
  • Monitor project costs, assist invoicing, and support budget management.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Support field operations with Superintendents and project teams.
  • Assist with closeout activities, including punch lists, as-builts, training, and warranty docs.
  • Promote compliance with policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

Overview

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, or similar construction role.
  • Must have knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and project management practices.
