Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support steel erection and fabrication projects on-site.

The role focuses on coordination, documentation, scheduling, and keeping projects moving safely, efficiently, and on budget. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specs, coordinating with field operations, preparing RFIs and submittals, tracking materials and productivity, and maintaining communication with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
• 1+ year commercial construction experience (internships considered).
• Structural steel experience preferred but not required.
• Strong ability to read drawings & specs.
• Microsoft Office + Bluebeam proficiency.
• Ability to support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and organisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist PMs across steel erection/fabrication projects.
• Review blueprints, specs, and contract documents.
• Work with field operations on equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Prepare RFIs, submittals, change orders, progress reports.
• Manage deliveries and maintain accurate records.
• Monitor daily field productivity and timesheets.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, partners, and vendors.

About the Role

A growing structural steel contractor is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support steel erection and fabrication projects. This role focuses on coordination, documentation, scheduling, and keeping projects moving safely, efficiently, and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Support - Assist PMs across steel erection/fabrication projects.
• Drawing & Spec Review - Review blueprints, specs, and contract documents.
• Field Coordination - Work with field operations on equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Documentation - Prepare RFIs, submittals, change orders, progress reports.
• Material Tracking - Manage deliveries and maintain accurate records.
• Productivity Tracking - Monitor daily field productivity and timesheets.
• Client & Vendor Interaction - Maintain professional communication with clients, partners, and vendors.

What You Bring
