Job summary

Flowtec Construction in Chicago is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join its experienced team. You will work with Project Managers and Executives on a range of projects, from commercial and multifamily to healthcare and education, taking ownership of key parts of the construction process.

You should have at least 2 years of commercial construction experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and a degree in Construction Management or Engineering.

• Strong communication and organizational skills

A well-established, ENR-ranked general contractor is looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to its Chicago team.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants exposure to a wide variety of projects rather than being tied to one sector. The company works across commercial, multifamily, healthcare, education, hospitality, industrial and mixed-use construction, with projects ranging from smaller renovations through large ground-up developments.

The Role

As Assistant Project Manager, you’ll work alongside experienced Project Managers and Project Executives while taking ownership of key parts of the construction process, including:

• Subcontractor coordination
• RFIs and submittals
• Change orders
• Cost tracking and forecasting
• Procurement and buyout
• Owner and architect communication
• Schedule coordination
• Supporting projects from preconstruction through closeout

This is not a role where you’ll stay an APM indefinitely. The company has a strong track record of promoting from within and offers a clear path toward Project Manager.
