Job description

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As an Assistant Project Manager at Choate Construction, you play a key support role in guiding projects from early planning through successful completion. You will work closely with the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager and will support the daily management, coordination, and administration of projects, including contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and cost control.

You will collaborate alongside the field Superintendent and project team to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while gaining hands on exposure to the full lifecycle of a construction project.

This position is ideal for professionals with at least three years of experience in a commercial construction–oriented entry‑level role who are eager to grow their careers and take on increasing responsibility.

YOU COULD BE THE NEXT CHOATE ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER IF …
  • You build positive, respectful relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, and internal partners.
  • You bring a mindset of stewardship, are approachable, collaborative, and committed to supporting both the Project Manager and field leadership in achieving shared goals.
  • You take safety personally and actively partner with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Safety team to implement and uphold project‑specific safety plans.
  • You are detail‑oriented and curious, taking the time to understand contract requirements, assist with subcontracts and purchase orders, and communicate potential risks or changes early.
  • You enjoy being involved early in the process, contributing during preconstruction, supporting logistics and scheduling efforts, and helping ensure the project is set up for success before work begins.
  • You thrive in a learning‑forward environment, supporting construction planning, financial tracking, and BIM/VDC coordination while actively investing in your own professional growth and readiness for greater responsibility.
