Job description

Responsibilities

• Lead and support multiple project teams from preconstruction to closeout, setting clear expectations around safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of stewardship, accountability, and strong relationships.
• Collaborate with Preconstruction and Operations to shape pursuit strategies, oversee contracts and risk, and ensure financial discipline that protects both client and company interests.
• Network with clients, architects, and engineers to identify and secure new work opportunities, represent Choate Construction in presentations, meetings, and industry events.
• Maintain strong client and partner relationships to support successful project execution and long‑term satisfaction.
• Serve as a trusted owner advocate and collaborative partner, positively influencing team dynamics and acting as a reliable point of contact for project success and business development.
• Lead and oversee Project Managers, Superintendents, and Safety Managers in the development, implementation, and continuous maintenance of Project Specific Safety Plans (PSSPs); conduct and document monthly safety reviews, address evolving jobsite hazards, and respond to incidents in alignment with company policy.
• Lead and oversee all contractual and risk‑management activities, including establishing contract formats, partnering with the DM on owner contract negotiations, reviewing and approving subcontracts and purchase orders, and proactively resolving contract, legal, and risk‑related issues.
• Collaborate with Preconstruction leadership to develop bid strategies, schedules, pricing, and procurement objectives; lead operational responses to RFPs, design‑assist and design‑build pursuits, and key estimating activities while providing strategic input on logistics, means and methods, and BIM utilization.
• Lead and manage multiple project teams by setting clear objectives, staffing plans, and performance standards, maintaining urgency and accountability to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Provide comprehensive financial oversight for assigned projects, reviewing and approving budgets, monthly cost reports, owner pay applications, change orders, and all subcontractor and supplier payments; ensure financial accuracy, timely corrections, and effective resolution of payment issues.
