I. JOB OVERVIEW

The F. David Fowler Career Center (FDFCC) supports GW Business students and alumni in developing the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to navigate their careers. Through career programming, guidance, employer and alumni engagement, and experiential learning, the Center connects students with opportunities to explore career paths, build skills, and gain experience.

Marketing360 is a career development program for undergraduate and graduate students interested in marketing. The program helps students understand the range of career paths available in marketing, build technical and professional skills, and develop relationships with alumni and industry professionals. Programming includes workshops, networking, industry engagement, and experiential learning.

The Assistant Program Director, Marketing360 leads the day-to-day management and continued development of the program. The role combines program operations, student-focused communications and engagement, external relationship building, experiential programming, and career guidance. Marketing360 culminates in cross-functional, semester-long pro bono projects that allow students to apply what they have learned to real-world client challenges in a team-based environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations and ongoing development of Marketing360, ensuring programming, communications, events, and student experiences are organized, timely, and aligned with program goals.
  • Design and deliver a two-semester program that helps undergraduate and graduate students explore marketing career paths, build technical and soft skills, and develop professional networks.
  • Plan and execute workshops, presentations, networking events, site visits, and other student-facing career development activities.
  • Develop clear, engaging, student-focused messaging and communications to promote programming, opportunities, expectations, and resources.
  • Manage program operations, including budgets, contracts, scheduling, logistics, records, student participation, communications, and other administrative processes.
  • Coordinate the Marketing360 pro bono project experience, including project planning, student teams, client communication, timelines, and logistics.
  • Oversee student workers supporting the program and manage program resources, presentations, guides, templates, and other student-facing materials.
  • Track participation and career-related outcomes and use data and feedback to evaluate the program and improve delivery.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen program effectiveness and the student experience.

Collaboration and Relationship Building

  • Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals, employers, alumni, and other external partners to create a strong pipeline of speakers, mentors, networking opportunities, and pro bono project partners.
  • Identify and cultivate new relationships that expand students’ exposure to marketing careers, industries, organizations, and professional opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Marketing faculty and identify opportunities to connect academic learning with career exploration and professional development.
  • Partner with colleagues across the Fowler Career Center and GW School of Business to strengthen student programming and identify opportunities for collaboration.

Student Career Advising

  • Provide individualized career advising to undergraduate and graduate students across industries.
  • Help students assess their interests, skills, and goals and identify appropriate marketing career paths and opportunities.
  • Mentor students on resumes, interviewing, professional branding, networking, and other career-readiness skills.
  • Connect students with relevant career resources, alumni, employers, and other opportunities.

This is a hybrid position with a combination of on-campus and remote work. The role requires regular on-campus presence for student programming, meetings, events, and other responsibilities.

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study.
